With Verhaert as an early shareholder, the company contributed to projects ranging from optics for Earth observation satellites to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/international-space-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Space Station<\/a>&nbsp;laboratories, while also driving technology transfer from aerospace to terrestrial applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the early 2000s, Lambda-X expanded its space-born expertise into ophthalmic metrology, developing&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lambda-x.net\/nimo-tempo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NIMO<\/a>, a groundbreaking inspection system for intraocular and contact lenses. Initially developed for the research of fluid dynamics in micro-gravity conditions, the technology was then used to enhance the accuracy and reliability of vision correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fast forward to 2021, and the ophthalmic division had grown into a true \u201cnugget\u201d within the company, with hundreds of NIMO machines operating worldwide, trusted by industry leaders like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alcon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alcon<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jnj.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Johnson &amp; Johnson<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bausch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bausch &amp; Lomb<\/a>. To scale its impact, Lambda-X initiated a strategic spin-out, giving birth to Lambda-X Ophthalmics (LXO): a dedicated company focused on expanding its metrology solutions beyond hardware into software and global services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This evolution reached a new milestone last year, 2024, with the acquisition of LXO led by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitestone.eu\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Whitestone<\/a>, an investment group listed on the Brussels stock exchange, marking a new era of strategic support for global expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following that, Verhaert further acquired and integrated Lambda-X as an autonomous business unit within the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/verhaert.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Verhaert group<\/a>.
