This instrument was crafted by Redwire Space Europe’s team in Belgium, together with Lambda-X | Verhaert High-Tech, for ESA. COLIS is no ordinary scientific tool— with two unique cell modules (D and E) and advanced detection techniques, it’s designed to investigate the secrets of proteins, colloidal glasses, and gels. This project employed cutting-edge techniques like Standard (Depolarized) Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Static Light Scattering, Time-Resolved Correlations (TRC), all in three directions, and Small Angle Light Scattering (SALS), to ensure measurement and analysis accuracy.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”2″ disabled_on=”off|off|off” _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” custom_margin=”0px||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”||60px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_heading title=”HOST2 – ESA” _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”f160aa45-dcad-4d6d-a480-d3681c267f34″ title_text_color=”#379DBD” title_font_size=”26px” title_line_height=”1.3em” custom_margin=”0px||1px||false|false” custom_padding=”0px|||||” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”2cf7d6f7-10b4-4264-9e0e-a518ea12a5a6″ text_font_size=”18px” custom_margin=”|-1px|19px|||” custom_padding=”|0px||||” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]

HOST2 (Heat Transfer Host-2) is an ESA facility designed to conduct experiments on heat transfer in microgravity, which fits within the European Drawer Rack-2 (EDR-2) on the International Space Station (ISS).
